Description: 2 weeks on a 24-acre 68-animal Farm and Nature Sanctuary as we learn bioconstruction techniques, material science, and alternative ways of building together.
What you learn:
Tool safety including chainsaw use and maintainence
Basics of felling trees, wood milling, and lumber storage.
Basics of mixing & installing cob, light clay straw, and bousillage
Mixing and applying earth-based and lime-based finishing plasters
Making and installing bottle bricks
Benefits of clay walls and material science
Basics of building envelope construction
Hands on building experience
Material sources and circularity
Material carbon embodiment and decarbonization tactics
Project: With Habitat Recovery Project, we are creating a hexagonal Sanctum as a spiritual beacon. We will be expanding upon the structure that was built in our Phase 1 Bioconstruction Workshop.

Bioconstruction Workshop
Bioconstruction is a sustainable building method that uses natural materials & techniques to minimize a building’s environmental impact.
Join us for a very special two weeks as we come together to learn & honor Indigenous natural building techniques on a 24-acre 68 animal Farm & Nature Sanctuary in Southwestern Louisiana.
