Description:  2 weeks on a 24-acre 68-animal Farm and Nature Sanctuary as we learn bioconstruction techniques, material science, and alternative ways of building together.

What you learn:

  • Tool safety including chainsaw use and maintainence

  • Basics of felling trees, wood milling, and lumber storage.

  • Basics of mixing & installing cob, light clay straw, and bousillage

  • Mixing and applying earth-based and lime-based finishing plasters

  • Making and installing bottle bricks

  • Benefits of clay walls and material science

  • Basics of building envelope construction

  • Hands on building experience

  • Material sources and circularity

  • Material carbon embodiment and decarbonization tactics

Project: With Habitat Recovery Project, we are creating a hexagonal Sanctum as a spiritual beacon. We will be expanding upon the structure that was built in our Phase 1 Bioconstruction Workshop.
